What's this?

Boston was playing outside with his friends, Emi and Chloe, at their house and he comes up to me inside holding a little black thing asking "What's this?" He is saying over and over and I finally get him to loosen his grasp on the object a bit and it starts crawling all over his hand. He drops it and tries to pick it back up while he's still asking "what's this"?

It was a small fuzzy black spider. Thank goodness they don't freak me out!!!!

Just watching a movie, mom.

This is what I came downstairs to after my biweekly shower (ha ha- just kidding, I only take them weekly). Boston decided it would be way more fun to watch a movie from the comforts of this tent. And it's extra comfy if the tent is on the couch. Dad didn't have a choice in whether he wanted to be in the tent or not. This is how we watch movies now!!!

Weirdo. . .

Boston has been very good about getting his own tissue, blowing his nose, and throwing it away when he has a runny nose. EXCEPT this morning. Jeremiah was changing his diaper and he sneezed his normal super-juicy-2-sneezes-in-a-row Boston special and reached for the nearest thing he could find and wiped his nose with it. It just so happened to be a shoe.
What a weirdo. . . my little weirdo :)

Dressing up

So, Boston's becoming more and more independant every day. Recently, he has been wanting to dress himself. Normally he's trying to undress himself and prefers being in the buff. After putting clothes on him, he grabs a T-shirt out of his dresser and was very determined to put it one (even though he was completely dressed). He wouldn't let me take it off for a couple of hours and was walking around the house "penguin style". This is how he thinks a shirt should be worn, my little trendsetter.

My baby has a first name, it's B-O-S-T-ON

Boston has finally figured out who he is. We have a photo album of just him (his favorite person to look at) and he was pointing to himself and said his name. Oh- it's sooooo cute!!!! Now he can't get away with ignoring me when I call his name.

Oh, and he learned how to gargle a couple hours later. He thinks it's so funny. It makes me laugh every time.

Easter

We had the pleasure of hosting my brother and sister-in-law and their 2 daughters for Easter weekend. It was so fun to hang out with them and to meet our 2 month old niece (Allison) for the first time.

Boston wanted to hold Allison any chance he got. He would not move a muscle and would stroke her hair and lay his hand on her chest. He would get very upset when we would take her away from him. He is so tender and loves he younger cousins so much!

Here is Kayci with her new little sister.

Boston in his Easter outfit from his Nana. What a good looking kid.

Boston and Kayci looking for eggs.

Boston climbed up on the couch and snuggled up as close as he could to Alli.

Boston "helping" Kayci scoot around.

Kayci adored Miah and would get so excited whenever he was around. At the park she grabbed his hand and took him on a walk.

We sure love you guys!!!!

Still feeling young!!!

Do you remember when you were a young college student and had a list of crazy things you wanted to do that were against social norms? Well, I'm proud to announce that I was able to fulfill one of mine yesterday.

4. Wade into a public fountain in the middle of the day. CHECK!!!

Boston and I went with my dear friend Debbie and her two girls to get ice cream. Afterward they had a blast running all over a grassy hill nearby and up and down the stairs that opened up into a huge and beautiful fountain. After a perfect afternoon, Boston decided to throw Chloe's treasured stuffed duck into the fountain!!! I was sooooo close to retrieving it from the ledge and then I watched it slowly float into the middle. I just had no choice. Poor Chloe was going to lose her very bestest friend. So I hiked up my pant legs and stepped into the fountain. Would I have ever done it if it weren't for a 2 year old and his friend? I would like to think so, but probably not. I may have in the dark with my husband (he would totally do it). It's events like this that keep you young. Thank you Boston!!!

Ride 'em Cowboston

We spent the weekend in St. George visiting Jeremiah's family. We had the opportunity one afternoon to go horseback riding with my sister-in-law's cousins (who ride competitively in rodeo's). It was a lot of fun and Boston was enamored by the girls (as usual).

Boston peeking out of the goat pen.

Oops!!!!! Distracted mommy moment

So, I was driving south on the 405 from running errands in Newport and just thinking about life when I look in my rear view mirror and notice that Boston is CLIMBING OUT OF HIS CAR SEAT!!!!! It slowly occurs to me that this doesn't seem quite right. Than it hits (very quickly) me that I forgot to buckle him in!!!! As I'm frantically looking for an exit and exiting as fast and safely as possible he slowly moves around the back seat and sits next to his car seat with a big "This is really cool" smile on his face. I pull into a gas station and try to stop shaking and kicking myself for being so absent minded. As I struggle to buckle him in (he really wanted to stay sitting in the seat) I think about how I grew up and how our parents didn't have car seats and we would just sit in the back seat. My parents always had a volvo wagon growing up and on road trips they would fold down the seats and put a mattress down and we would lay down and play on the mattress the entire trip. I can't even comprehend doing that today, but it sure sounds like fun.

Our day at the petting zoo

What's up Doc?
B tried to strike up a conversation with this dad and was ignored (I know????) so he started to eat the carrots himself to show him how much cuter he was than the bunnies!!! So much cuter!!!

Giddy Up!

No, Boston is not smothering this Guinea Pig. He's carefully protecting him from any attack rabbits.
(No animals were harmed while shooting the pictures. . . barely).

Oh wait, these rabbits just want to kiss and cuddle.

B LOVED the train ride. His favorite part was charming the mom next to me everytime the train went around. He waved, smiled, laughed, and talked to her while I was taking pictures trying to get his attention. He's smiling at the "other" mom in all the train photos. Cute little flirt!!!

I'm the rootin tootinist.

"Mom look. A plane. Goat, what goat?"
