Birth Day - April 28, 2009

Welcome Capri Darby Forest. She's already a month old (man, does time fly when you're not keeping your blog up to date) and she's an angel. She was induced a week early because she had an enlarged left kidney on the ultrasound. My doctor suggested a controlled birth so we were there during the week when a nephrologist was on staff. We also thought we were moving May 11th or 18th and wanted to move with a baby older than a week. I was admitted at 7:00am. The Pitocin was started around 9am. I didn't have consistent contractions until my doctor broke my water at 12:30pm. I started contracting immediately and asked for an epidural about the same time. I got on about 20 minutes later. WHEW, it was so nice. At 3:30pm I was completely dilated and was told not to push until my doctor arrived at 4. About 4 pushes and 20 minutes later, little miss girl was born. It was the perfect delivery.

About to pop.

Getting ready to head to the hospital. 7:00 am April 28th.

One of my best friends, Beth, spent the night to come to the hospital and witness the birth. She missed Boston's birth when she went home and got a flat tire after spending hours at the hospital with me. I wasn't going to let her miss it this time.

Miah getting some rest. Watching me contract is hard work.

Jeremiah's mom, Colleen gives the BEST belly massages. I was in heaven.

What's this for?

Boston found a tampon in the car and Miah thought it would be funny for him to come and ask me what it was for. Here's a picture of Boston cleaning his nose with the "nose cleaner". What else do you tell your 3 year old what a tampon is for??????

Darby or Capri??

Our little girl is due in about 3 weeks (May 4th). Hopefully it's more like 2 weeks, or even 1. We have decided to name her Darby Capri Forest. Darby is my maiden name and Capri is an Island in Italy, to follow our theme of place names. I am so torn between which name to call her. I love both so much. Darby is very sentimental and sweet, but Capri is so pretty. I also found a beautiful song name "Capri" about a mother pregnant with a little girl named Capri. It's the song you are hearing right now on the playlist by Colbie Caillet. So, my question, do you like Darby or Capri better?????

Miah and I have decided to wait and see what she looks like before we decide but I thought I could get some feedback. I wish I were having twin girls so I can use both.

Silly boy

This is what Boston thinks a Boppy pillow is used for.

We have a routine every week at church after we pick B up from nursery. He tells Miah and I to wait at the top of the stairs so he can go down first. Once he's down, he let's us know that it's our turn. When we get to the bottom we find B sitting in a chair with his hands in "quiet time" (Miah is trying to teach him how to meditate- good luck with that). He's snickering until he hears us and than ROAR!!!! He scares us silly and then we can go home.

Infomercial filmed at our house!!!!

Ever wonder how an infomercial is filmed??? Me neither, but I still got to see how it was done. Thanks to some of our friends who work for a production company, our house was staged to be filmed in an infomercial. The product was the Water Stik. Nate (artist and interior designer) helped us decorate (most of our stuff is still packed) and helped the production company place the plants. They had actors and a full crew with food service. We had to be out of the house for most of the day, but it was well worth it. We met so many great people. Thanks Adam and Sara for thinking of our house.

Debbie's surprise birthday dinner

We LOVE surprises. Thanks to Albert, we were able to get Debbie to meet us all out at Mangia Bene for a birthday dinner. The food was fabulous and the company even better. Happy Birthday, Debbie.

Do you think she knew ???

Tiramisu with a candle after a big bowl of pasta. It just doesn't get any better.

Kim's birthday at 6:45 am

So, apparently my friends thinks it's fun to kidnap other friends on their birthday at 6:45 am and take them to breakfast. I have to say that it was a ton of fun. Here is a rundown of the whole escapade. Too bad I won't be here for my birthday!!!! Happy Birthday Kim!

Time to wake up!!!!

It's always good to take as many pictures as you can while they are still in bed.

Jen doing a little coaxing to get Kim up.

YAWN!!! And she up. Mission accomplished.

At Mimi's Cafe for some birthday breakfast. Unfortunately I had to head off to work and missed the cake. Maybe next time.
